Why StaySafe Tai Chi Works
Tai Chi is renowned for its health benefits, but it can also provide you with a formidable means of self protection. Our sessions offer a unique blend of traditional Tai Chi principles and practical self-defence techniques.
This isn't about becoming a martial artist or spending years in training. It's about being prepared for real situations with practical skills you can learn quickly.
You'll use Tai Chi principles - leverage, timing, and body mechanics - instead of brute strength. These techniques are designed for real people in real scenarios, not movie-style fighting.
What makes this different:
⦿ Smart defense over strength - techniques work regardless of your size or fitness level.
⦿ Realistic scenarios - we practice situations you might actually face, not choreographed moves.
⦿ Easy to remember - simple, effective techniques you can recall under stress.
⦿ Builds confidence naturally - you'll feel the difference in how you carry yourself within weeks

Frequently Asked Questions

Answer: Absolutely. The techniques are specifically designed for real people, not athletes. We focus on practical skills that work regardless of age, using body mechanics rather than brute force.

Answer: Pretty much anything. You don't have time to go home and change your clothing if you are in a dangerous situation. Trainers or other 'sensible' shoes please. No special equipment or uniform needed.
Question 4: What if I miss a session?
Answer: No problem. Each session teaches complete, practical techniques, and we regularly recap key principles. You can drop in when it suits you.
Question 5: Will this actually work in a real situation?
Answer: Yes. With 45 years of teaching experience, I focus exclusively on techniques that are simple, effective, and easy to remember under stress. We practice realistic scenarios, not movie-style fighting.
